The Pinkertones are based in Lincoln, NE. Members are Doug Dickeson, Tony Hillhouse, Eric Johnson, and Gary Larsen. Their setlist includes songs from the 60's through current hits.
Steve Hanson, Dave Miller and Jim Pipher are the Shucks Brothers. The Shucks shows involve some serious string tickling and great harmony vocals. They tip their hats to the great old bluegrass masters such as Bill Monroe and the Stanley Brothers, but they also feature country, swing and red hot instrumentals. These guys have been playing professionally since they were young pups yet they still manage to surprise each other and their audiences with dazzling improvisation, silly humor and a whole lot of fun.

Taps, with Kevin Murray is a fitting ending to the 2024 Veterans Freedom Music Festival...
The Veterans Freedom Music Festival was the brain child of Terry Gillispie, from Lincoln Nebraska. In 2011, Terry asked Dave Rusk, a local radio executive and 'self-styled musician,' if he would play some music for the Veterans at the Lincoln VA hospital.
Dave played the first year, but both he and Terry saw an opportunity to turn the idea into something really meaningful for THE Lincoln community, and as a way to honor our Veterans. AND THEN...
Dave and Terry along with a host of volunteers and donors came together and formed the Veterans Freedom Music Festival as a benefit for veterans.
The Festival has grown quickly and 2023 was the 13th year. Top Bands in the area are featured, and the event has become 'Lincoln's Largest FREE Outdoor Music Festival.'
